What the extension processes
When you choose a CSV or XLSX file, or paste text into the extension, AI Privacy Layer processes its contents locally in your browser's memory. It detects email addresses, phone numbers, and Swedish personal identity numbers, then replaces matches with pseudonyms so you can protect the text before using it with an AI service.
The processing and temporary mapping between pseudonyms and original values take place in your browser. The session mapping is not saved permanently. Pseudonymisation is not anonymisation: while the mapping remains available in the session, it can be used to restore the original values.
No collection by Lychi
AI Privacy Layer does not send file contents, pasted text, detected personal information, or the session mapping to Lychi AB's servers or services. The extension does not access your clipboard contents or read content from AI websites. It does not monitor text you type or submit on those websites.
The text and files you process remain in your browser's memory for the extension's operation. The extension does not create a permanent copy of the session mapping.
You choose what to share with an AI service
After pseudonymisation, you can copy the protected text yourself and paste it into an AI service. To restore the response, you can copy it from the AI service, paste it back into the extension, and use the session mapping while it remains available.
AI Privacy Layer does not copy or paste text for you and does not send text to the AI service. When you choose to share text with an AI service, that service handles it under its own terms and privacy policy. Pseudonyms do not protect information that you choose to give to an external service.
Chrome Web Store: Limited Use
AI Privacy Layer uses information you provide to the extension only for its single purpose: locally pseudonymising detected email addresses, phone numbers, and personal identity numbers and, while the session mapping remains available, restoring those values in a response you paste back. Use is limited to features you request.
Lychi does not sell or transfer this information for advertising, personalised advertising, creditworthiness assessment, or data brokerage. Lychi does not allow its staff to read the information. The extension does not transfer it to Lychi or other recipients. Any sharing with an AI service happens only when you copy and paste text there yourself; the extension does not initiate that sharing.
Lychi AB affirms that its use of user data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
