Information processed by the extension
When you start or refresh the magnifier, Chrome captures the visible area of the active webpage. While the lens is active, page scrolling, viewport changes, and returning to the tab can request a refreshed image. A captured image can contain anything visible on the page, including personal or sensitive information that you have open.
The extension processes that image in memory in your browser to show the magnified view. It does not read page text, extract form values, build browsing history, or send the image to the publisher or another service. Closing the lens releases the image.
The extension reads the active tab URL only to check that the page uses HTTP or HTTPS. It does not save or transmit that URL. It stores your zoom, size, shape, and appearance preferences in Chrome local storage. Temporary session identifiers and tab/window metadata are held in Chrome session storage and removed when the session ends; Chrome clears session storage when the browser or extension restarts.
Sharing, analytics, and retention
The extension makes no network requests and does not share data with the publisher or third parties. It has no account, advertising, or analytics service. Preferences remain in Chrome local storage until you reset or remove them. You can reset preferences in the extension options. Captured images remain in memory only for the active lens session.
Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Use of information accessed by Web Precision Lens is limited to providing its single purpose: magnifying the visible webpage area at the user's request. The extension does not sell or transfer that information, use it for advertising, or allow people at the publisher to read it. The use of information received by Web Precision Lens adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
